Job Description



The Per Diem Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is responsible for ensuring that all clinical services provided within the program are safe, evidence-based, and appropriate to each patient's specific diagnosis, substance of choice, psychiatric presentation, and medical history. The APRN collaborates closely with the Program Director and interdisciplinary team to coordinate and deliver high-quality psychiatric and medical care that supports positive treatment outcomes.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and medical evaluations, including assessment of substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's clinical needs.

  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) regimens in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.

  • Direct and coordinate psychiatric and medical services in collaboration with nursing, clinical, and administrative teams.

  • Ensure reasonable accommodations are made to promote patient safety, comfort, and stabilization throughout their stay.

  • Build therapeutic, trust-based relationships with patients to positively influence behavioral change and long-term recovery outcomes.

  • Provide clinical consultation and guidance to staff regarding patient care, medication management, and crisis intervention.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Support day-to-day clinical operations as needed to enhance program efficiency, regulatory compliance, and overall financial performance of the center, in partnership with the Program Director, Clinical Director, CEO, and COO.

      • Ability to comply with internal, local, state, and federal regulations and policies.
      • Ability to work and communicate with others.

      Required Education and Experience

      • Graduate of an accredited medical school.
      • Psychiatrist (Physician) licensed in the State of Florida.
      • 5 years minimum in a supervisory position
      • Familiarity with Addiction Medicine, CARF, local state authorities and other indicated healthcare standards are necessary
      • A minimum of two (2) years' leadership experience is preferred
