POSITION DESCRIPTION

Phoenix House Florida is an organization that is passionate about healing individuals, families and communities challenged by substance use disorders and related mental health conditions. Reporting, interim to the Business Development Manager, the BD Representative will utilize an established book of business contacts and create client acquisition strategies and referral outreach plans to attract and secure private insurance patients and a diversified payer mix. This role requires a dynamic, go-getter driven by our mission and business goals. S/he will be responsible for building, advancing, and maintaining referral relationships (including but not limited to hospitals, mental health providers, social workers, insurance providers/companies, community groups, etc.) throughout the assigned territory. S/He will integrate both traditional off-line referral engagements with online/digital executions that are in alignment with the business strategy; obtaining brand recognition and financial growth.

The Business Development Representative will bring a highly collaborative spirit to the team and work closely with the Business Development Manager and programleadership.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of communities in assigned territory.

  • Demonstrated ability to strategize, set and meet goals.

  • Identify and research potential referents

  • contacting via in person meetings, cold calls, and emails

  • Make and give presentations to prospective referents and internal executives.

  • Represent the company at community meetings. Manage relationships, membership organizations (i.e., Kiwanis, Host Lions Club, Rotary Clubs, etc.) and prepare all applications and documents required.

  • Attend various events, working with Business Development Manager to obtaininvitations and other collateral materials. Ensure branding compliance.

  • Works with healthcare organizations, community-based organizations, insurers and community coalitions to develop programs, events, and new initiatives that promote marketing and community relations objectives.

  • Develop a strong knowledge of behavioral health services and related industries. 

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work under pressure and perform duties of job meeting expectations set by the Business Development Manager. 

  • Utilize strong attention to detail and demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Solid selling skills, with ability to engage new business.

  • Maintain professional working relationships with staff, including being able to work remotely with team members.

  • Compile and maintain all BDR activity through CRM (Hub Spot)

  • Coordinates and conducts tours for key referral sources.

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills are a must, with the ability to build rapport with various community groups and organizations.

  • Report to the Business Development Manager on a weekly basis with sales results

  • Ability to work with Hub Spot and Microsoft Office software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Key Performance Indicators (KPI):

Weekly Key Performance IndicatorsAdmissions

  • 15 Residential Admissions per Week(Bed availability may vary. If the program is at capacity, maintain a qualified waitlist and continue building the referral pipeline.)

  • 20 Outpatient Admissions per Month(Rome Avenue ? adolescent and adult services.)

Business Development Activity

  • 40 Face-to-Face Outreach Visits per Week, including:

  • Hospitals & Emergency Departments

  • Detox Facilities

  • Treatment Providers

  • Community Partners

  • Courts, Probation, and Community Agencies

Relationship Development

  • 3 Facility Tours per Week

  • 10 Lunch & Learn Presentations per Month

  • Attend at least 2 Community Networking Event per Week

Referral Management

  • 25 Qualified Referrals per Week

  • 100% follow-up on all referrals within 24 hours

  • Develop at least 5 New Referral Partners per Month

Communication Standards

  • Return all phone calls within 2 business hours?during normal business hours.

  • Respond to all emails within 2 business hours?during normal business hours.

  • Provide timely updates to referral sourcesregarding admissions, waitlists, or any barriers to admission.

  • Maintain professional, courteous, and responsive communication?with referral partners, clients, and internal staff.

Accountability

  • Maintain an up-to-date outreach calendar in Outlook

  • Document?100% of outreach activities?within 24 hours.

  • Submit a?weekly KPI report?every Friday summarizing:

  • Residential admissions

  • Outpatient admissions

  • Qualified referrals

  • Face-to-face outreach visits

  • Facility tours completed

  • Lunch & Learns completed

  • New referral partners established

  • Barriers, opportunities, and action plan for the following week

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Degree from approved university in Marketing/Public Relations, Social Work or related preferred. GED/High School Diploma Required.

  • Must reside in Hillsborough County, Florida.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with attention to detail and accuracy while adhering to deadlines in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.

  • Understanding sales performance metrics

  • Experience with CRM software

  • Committed to organizational mission. 

  • Minimum of one year experience working in a human service/substance abuse treatment setting required. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's license and a driving record that allows for operation of company vehicles. 

  • Must meet federal, state, and local Criminal Clearance and Child Abuse Indexing requirements. 

  • Applicant must be either a U.S. Citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States. 

  • Must pass/clear a full reference check, background check, and drug test process before start date.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/CEUs

Valid Florida Driver's License and good driving record with no more than 4 points.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is sedentary and/or ambulant. Occasional physical exertion (lifting 30 or more pounds, walking, standing, etc.) through course of job requirement. Must be able to see, sit, stand, bend and reach. Must be able to read, write, and speak English language. Must be able to make independent decisions when needed. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with the medical,nursing, clinical and other staff. May be exposed to varying and unpredictable situations (i.e., patient behavior).

REGULARLY REQUIRED:  to sit, use arms/hands to reach, manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; written and verbal communication, ability to hear.

OCCASIONALLY REQUIRED: to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch and lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is that of a substance use treatment milieu which may include: 

  • Exposure to clients infected with Hepatitis B, HIV, TB, or other Infectious Diseases
